MER Corporate supports local charity the “Boston Minstrel Company.”
Since 1991, the Minstrels have been providing energetic and warm-hearted performances that lift people’s spirits. The benefits of live music, participatory singing and dancing are now proven to lift emotional states, ignite imagination, and arouse joy and revelry. When the curtain falls, all are in a state of happiness and well-being. Boston’s troupe of volunteer singers and musicians offer compassionate and creative musical expression to folks residing in shelters, prisons, and senior homes.
MER's Corporate office, located in Randolph, MA actively supported the Boston Minstrel’s 24th Annual “Rock the House” Fundraiser. The fundraiser gave the group the ability to continue funding their Music Workshop Program. The program enables the Boston Minstrels to expand their program into other homeless shelters and communities.
It is proven that Boston Minstrels has healed through the power of music the loneliness of seclusion and pain that impacts being homeless. Through program participation, it has allowed people to feel like they belong and help create something magical while living in this type of environment. It has given individuals a sense of human connection that has developed into positive changes.
