Reducing Hazardous Waste and Chemical Use

Moran Environmental offers an ecologically beneficial service to our customers by collecting their post usage chemicals including off-specification acids, sodium hydroxide, and ferrous chloride (spent hydrochloric acid from steel “pickling”). MER then reuses these elements as an “effective chemical substitute” for the compounds that typically are used in municipal and commercial wastewater treatment plants.

Our Beneficial Reuse program enables our customers to minimize the volume of hazardous waste they generate and reduces the amount of virgin chemicals required in the wastewater treatment process.
